R.J. Miller was back at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ this week, sharing real-world advice with business students for the second time since graduating from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ sixteen years ago.

Longtime ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ business professor Dr. Uchenna Akpom was recently named director of the University’s Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Rural Business program. The first of its kind degree program was introduced two years ago at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and features relevant courses that focus on critical issues as well as strategies and solutions related to rural businesses and designed to offer innovative solutions to global rural business challenges.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s College of Business will welcome alumnus Brad Bolton to campus on Feb. 22. Bolton is chairman of the Independent Community of Bankers of America (ICBA) and will speak to students and guests in Bridges Auditorium at Wallace Hall. The talk is open to the community.
As silly as it may seem, the reason Dr. Veronica Triplett is an institution at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ can be traced to a long-forgotten item tucked inside a storage space in her family’s new home.
Income tax form

For two decades, accounting students at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ have participated in a federal program that assists low-income and disabled workers file their tax returns.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is set to launch its latest doctoral degree program with the rural doctorate of business administration, which has been approved by the university’s accrediting bodies, with classes beginning in August of this year.
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ accounting students will offer free income tax help until April 15 through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board of Trustees has approved the naming of the athletic field on campus in honor of alumnus and trustee Terry J. Bunn of Tuscaloosa. The naming comes as the athletic field and Tiger Stadium undergo major renovations and upgrades planned for the coming months. The most visible upgrade thus far is the new synthetic turf.
