Dr. Vania Assis grew up in a small town in Brazil where she rode horses, tended pigs and chickens alongside her father, even helping butcher cattle when the need arose. Now an assistant professor at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, Assis is committed to studying and protecting amphibians and educating others about this endangered group of vertebrates.

Alumnus William Crawford has been selected to serve as Director of the Outdoor Fellows Program and Head Coach of the Bass Fishing Team, two new initiatives designed to expand student opportunity and engagement while advancing the state’s growing focus on outdoor recreation, natural resource education, and workforce development.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has named two-time graduate Dr. Audrey Crawford as vice president for enrollment management and student success, where she will oversee admissions, recruitment, financial aid, and a range of student support programs.
Two distinguished individuals, E. Lyle Cain, Jr., MD, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, and Candice Davis, DPT, PT of Meridian, Mississippi, were inducted into the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Society of the Golden Key during a ceremony at the Bell Conference Center, Thursday, Feb. 26.
