ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students at Gilbert Hall

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is paving the way for community college students to transfer seamlessly and earn academic and housing scholarships at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ as they continue their studies in pursuit of bachelor’s degrees. Since the beginning of the year, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has announced partnerships with four Alabama community colleges and four in Mississippi, with more expected soon.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has announced more than 400 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the Fall 2019 academic semester.
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ fall 2019 grads

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ held fall commencement exercises on Saturday, Dec. 14, with President Ken Tucker conferring undergraduate, master, and education specialist degrees to students of the colleges of business, education, liberal arts, and natural sciences and mathematics, , and to the school of graduate studies. Nearly 1,000 students in the graduating class represent some 26 states across the U.S. and abroad.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will honor a record number of nearly 1,000 graduates during fall commencement exercises Saturday, Dec. 14. The undergraduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Pruitt Gymnasium on the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ campus. The graduate ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., also at Pruitt Gymnasium. Presidential Receptions will be held prior to each ceremony and are open to all graduates and their guests at 8 a.m. and noon in the Bell Conference Center.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ launched its revitalized music major this fall, bringing opportunities for students with a broad range of music interests to prepare for occupations and activities. The new program is gaining popularity among students as well as community members like Charlie and Linda Muñoz, who have shown their support with a digital grand piano for performances on campus.

Students at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ are being offered part-time job opportunities to help lead after school programs at University Charter School for the upcoming academic year. The opportunity is open to students in any academic major, and opportunities will be based on their areas of experience.
