The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will receive $1.8 million in federal funding to strengthen nursing education and workforce development, thanks to the appropriations leadership of U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.). The funding will support ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Alabama Rural Nursing Enhanced Technology Project, which will provide the Ira D. Pruitt College of Nursing with updated high-fidelity simulation training equipment for nursing students.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will commemorate the inauguration of President Todd G. Fritch with an investiture ceremony on Friday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Auditorium. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the courtyard of Bell Conference Center.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has earned national recognition from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education in its Student Access and Earnings Classification, underscoring the university’s commitment to advancing students’ economic mobility, employment opportunities, and long-term career success.
