The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board of Trustees approved at its June 1 quarterly meeting proposed construction plans for facilities at Lake LU for its new fishing team, which will begin competing this year. 
The Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame will induct its two newest members at a ceremony on the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ campus on March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Bridges Auditorium. This year’s inductees are broadcaster Mary Olive Enslen Tinder and artist Janet Nolan.

Longtime ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ business professor Dr. Uchenna Akpom was recently named director of the University’s Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Rural Business program. The first of its kind degree program was introduced two years ago at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and features relevant courses that focus on critical issues as well as strategies and solutions related to rural businesses and designed to offer innovative solutions to global rural business challenges.
