The 乐播传媒 has announced nearly 500 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President鈥檚 List and the Dean鈥檚 List for the Spring 2019 academic semester. The President鈥檚 List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher on at least twelve semester hours credit with no grade lower than a 鈥淐.鈥�

Dr. Valerie Pope Burnes, associate professor of history at 乐播传媒, will preside over the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Alabama Historical Association when it convenes in Tuscaloosa from April 25-27. Burnes was elected president of the Association in April 2018, and will finish out her term as president at the Tuscaloosa meeting.

The 乐播传媒鈥檚 College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics has announced a $1.38 million-dollar grant funded by the National Science Foundation for a partnership with Bevill State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, Demopolis City Schools, and University Charter School to enhance STEM curriculum for students. Dubbed Project INSPIRE, the project allows for a total of 20 individual scholarships and 13 stipends over five years for those pursuing STEM careers.

In 1989, the 乐播传媒 (then Livingston University) became the first public institution in Alabama approved to offer a bachelor of science in athletic training. Now, 乐播传媒 has also become the first approved by its state and national accrediting bodies to offer a master鈥檚 degree in athletic training. Students who want to enter the field can even earn a bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree in a single program in only five years.
