The McMillan Bank Building, which has served the community of Livingston for over 120 years, is now the Black Belt Development Center.
The Small Business Development Center at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ (SBDC) is looking for individuals who believe they have the perfect idea for a new business but don’t know where to start or have a business whose sales are flat and can’t keep up with the competition.
For more than 20 years, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has offered a hands-on learning opportunity for accounting students to prepare individual state and federal income tax returns at no charge to the tax payer through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program which receives grant assistance from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through ImpactAmerica.
The Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame will induct its two newest members at a ceremony on the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ campus on March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Bridges Auditorium. This year’s inductees are broadcaster Mary Olive Enslen Tinder and artist Janet Nolan.
This year, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ community is commemorating the MLK holiday on Monday, Jan. 15, at 2:30 p.m. in collaboration with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Pi Delta Chapter of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s Office of Diversity and Inclusion alongside FBC of Livingston.
One way The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Division of Engineering and Technology ensures that they help students graduate and become better all-around employees is through expertise offered by their E&T advisory board. The board comprises 15 Alabama industry professionals, eight of whom are ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumni and now work for corporations like WestRock, Volkert Engineering, Two River’s Lumber, Cemex and Lavender, Inc.
For the past few years Dr. Lucas Johnson has been a man on a mission. An assistant professor in the College of Natural Science and Mathematics at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, Johnson is determined to go into every high school in the area that will invite him in.
Students eagerly waited in line for the annual Tiger Career Fair to kick off Tuesday, Oct. 17 in the Student Union Building (SUB) at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. The all degree fair is held each fall. Almost 200 students filed in the SUB over the course of the three-hour fair to speak to potential employers, engage in networking and gain resources from Career Services.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Â is accepting applications for the upcoming ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ BOSS II Summer Camp for rising 12th graders. The deadline to apply is May 15.
