The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board of Trustees approved at its June 1 quarterly meeting proposed construction plans for facilities at Lake LU for its new fishing team, which will begin competing this year.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is opening its doors to students affected by the recently announced closing of Judson College. Through this special opportunity, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will allow students to transfer seamlessly and earn academic and housing scholarships at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ as they continue their studies in pursuit of bachelor’s degrees.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ expects to enter the fall 2021 semester in person, with continued face-to-face instruction and a return to traditional event schedules. The University will soon release its operational plans for summer and fall 2021, aligning campus health and safety protocols with federal and state guidance.

Students pursuing a college degree at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will have a new opportunity to earn a scholarship through the generous support of Greenetrack, Inc. The scholarship is being established through an initial contribution of $10,000.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is set to launch its latest doctoral degree program with the rural doctorate of business administration, which has been approved by the university’s accrediting bodies, with classes beginning in August of this year.
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Spring 2021 Commencement

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will honor more than 700 graduates during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 8. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at Tiger Stadium on the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ campus.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ accounting students will offer free income tax help until April 15 through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.
Lift Every Voice and Sing Discussion ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will host Dr. Timothy Askew, professor of English and humanities at Clark Atlanta University, for a virtual event in commemoration of Black History Month. The event is co-sponsored by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ CARES. There is no cost to participate, and the virtual event is open to the public. 

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has announced nearly 650 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 academic semester.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has announced plans for honoring summer and fall graduates at commencement exercises on Dec. 12, with ceremonies held in a hybrid format to allow graduates’ families and friends to watch live online.
