The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board of Trustees approved at its June 1 quarterly meeting proposed construction plans for facilities at Lake LU for its new fishing team, which will begin competing this year. 
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Division of Economic & Workforce Development, in partnership with CO.STARTERS of Chattanooga, Tennessee, recently graduated its first class of REBUILD, an entrepreneurial training class to assist small businesses in recovery, rebuilding and growing their firms.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will begin the new academic year on Monday, Aug. 17. For the first time since mid-March, the school will hold classes on campus. An in-depth plan has been developed to guide daily operations with emphasis on health and safety in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to provide nursing student scholarships over the next five years. Project EARN will provide scholarships for up to 50 qualifying students in the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing each semester, with $3,000 awarded up to four semesters.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will partner with North Carolina based hands-on learning company Betabox to help implement a workforce development initiative funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor & the Delta Regional Authority. Design and construction of a mobile unit to support a slate of training needs.

Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the entire university community, and in response to the latest guidance and recommendations from CDC and other public health agencies, the university will transition all on-campus classes to online instruction beginning March 16.
